Dr. Seema Khanna is Deputy Director General and Director Operations (National Knowledge Network) at National Informatics Centre, Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, Government of India. She is a distinguished and a committed professional, with more than 25 years of rich experience in various technologies including Networks, Security, Directory services, Messaging services, etc. She is B.Tech, M.Tech and holds a Doctorate degree in Information security from IIT Delhi.

Messaging services in NIC has many verticals and is the largest service of its kind offered by a Government. NKN is a key pillar of India’s e-infrastructure, delivering the PAN-India NKN network for scientific excellence, research, education and innovation. Through interconnections with its 1737+ national research and education institutes, the NKN network is the largest and most advanced Research & Education Network, connecting over 5 crores students across India and supporting all scientific disciplines.

Her responsibilities include design, deployment and commissioning of applications across diverse networks and systems. Has formulated various IT policies for strict adherence to the cyber security mandate of the organization under MeitY. Also, part of core team in the Ministry (MeitY) for imparting series of training programmes on latest technologies, cyber security, trends and management concepts within and outside the organization. Is handling the operations of AarogyaSetu App, which is the CoVID-19 “Contact tracing, Syndromic mapping and Self-assessment” app with the fastest number of downloads globally ,developed under Digital India by the National Informatics Centre under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology
