Manny Hechanova first joined the University of Guam in 1996 as a Management Information Systems faculty member for the School of Business and Public Administration. In 1999, he accepted a teaching position for the Computer Studies Division at the University of Maryland University College (UMUC) Asia Division – Guam. Then in 2011, he returned back to the University of Guam as an administrator to lead the Telecommunications And Distance Education Operation. Primarily, he focused on regional communication issues and developing the online education environment. In 2019, he accepted the additional role as the interim Chief Information Officer. He currently oversees the management and operations of the campus network, research computing resources, and ICT development opportunities.
